Double trouble! Tasmanian brothers Van and Cal Walker have been plying their home hewn harmonies and original tunes for almost 20 years in Melbourne, while also forming and performing in groups like The Swedish Magazines, Goatpiss Gasoline, Go Go Sapien and Tyrannamen. Van Walker’s prolific song writing has seen him become a cult figure locally. He’s written more than 500 songs across many genres. Fuse Music Group realised an Underneath the Radar compilation of his music, met with national critical acclaim, prompting Beat Magazine to quip: “If Bob Dylan was born 20 years later and grew up fraternising in Collingwood bars, he would sound like this,” and Mess & Noise to state, “Literary vigour and scathing social commentary, if there is any justice in this world, Underneath the Radar will provoke a radical awareness & appreciation of Van Walker’s song writing talents.” Van and Cal love to collaborate on stage and are looking forward to performing at the Night Market.
